Whaledreamers

It's kind of a wonder that my brother, The Storyteller, led me to this website on the morning following my watching, "The Whaledreamers" for the first time. I highly recommend this documentary to anyone who has an ounce of concern for the enviroment and the troubles facing man on Earth. The Whaledreamers was so well done. It was entertaining, interesting and brought forth so many of my emotions. I was in awe watchin it. It made me cry. It made me mad. It made me smile. It gave me inspiration and hope. There we're 2 special signs for me in this documentary. The first sign was when I was watching all these people of different beliefs gather together for the cause of the whale, the enviroment and all mankind. I suddenly flashed on something my Mom had said a month before she died. We we're discussing the religions of the world and I asked "But how do we know which one is the right religion? I like this about the Catholics, I like this about Bhuddism, I like this about the Cherokee, etc." My Mom who was dying of cancer, was sitting very quietly while the rest of us we're discussing this, until I asked my question. Then my Mom said, "You take the best parts of all of them." That has stuck with me for nearly 2 years. I think she was right. That is what I saw in The Whaledreamers. The coming together of different people and their sharing of the 'best parts' of their cultures and beliefs. The second sign for me in The Whaledreamers came at the end of the documentary where they posted quotes. One quote was by Gandhi that said, "You must be the Change you wish to see in the world." I have that exact same quote on my refridgerator. I had copied it from something I had read. That quote had struck a cord in me as deeply as The Whaledreamers did.

So that is my message today. Watch The Whaledreamers. Be involved. Be nice.
